The National Geospatial Technology Center, Jefferson Community and Technical College, and the Kentucky Information Technology Center (KITCenter) in Partnership with Kentucky Division of Geographic Information, Kentucky Geographic Alliance, Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals and the University of Kentucky Tracy Farmer Center, is proud to announce a regional one day conference to be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 with pre-conference workshops scheduled for Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28 and post conference workshops scheduled for Thursday June 30, 2011, on the Southwest campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, Kentucky.
This third annual conference provides a regional perspective of geospatial education. Presentations by leaders and practitioners in the field will provide participants with an up-to-date view.
The central focus of the conference will be the GTCM (Geospatial Technology Competency Model) standards developed by the Department of Labor and GeoTech.
· Educational initiatives in GIS, remote sensing and other geospatial fields
· What’s the outlook for geospatial careers in the region
· Current software development and applications for geospatial education

Geospatial workshops will be held Monday, June 27st and Tuesday, June 28th and Thursday June 30th. These workshops will require separate registration (in addition to conference registration).

All conference events will be held on the Southwest campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College, approximately 9 miles from Louisville International Airport. Louisville is quite busy with many activities and fun things to do during this time. Plan to arrive early and enjoy some of the wonderful things to see and do during your stay.
